The licensing: What does it all mean to you?

A general builders licensed is obtained through the Builders Licensing Board,a government authority developed to ensure that qualified trained people onlyare responsible for the domestic and commercial building in the community. A means to protect the public from poor and unsafe building practices and financial loss. To apply for and obtain a general builders license, you must demonstrate knowledge and competency of procedures in the building industry but also demonstrate proficiency in estimating, business management and have proof of sufficient funds to operate to the capacity of the license applied for. Once the person complies with the licensing board requirements then the application can be granted a general builders license  and operate a business in the community to the level deemed appropriate by the licensing board thus ensuring no builder is operating beyond there level of experience, training or financial capabilities.
